Robert C. Gius' Obituary
Robert Gius was born on January 3, 1915 in Syracuse, NY and died peacefully on November 17, 2005. He lived a long, full life, giving generously of his love and talents to his family and community. At age five, he traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska to live with his grandparents. In 1926 they moved to Tacoma, WA. He graduated from Bellarmine High School and the College of Puget Sound. It was there he met Grace, his wife of 68 years. He worked at many jobs, mainly as a teacher and a carpenter. He was a life member of the Lakewood First Lions, a Melvin Jones Fellow, an Elk, and a charter member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish. He was preceded in death by his son David, his daughter Darline, and grandson Jonathan Cables.He is survived by his loving wife, Grace, daughters Donna Franklin, Monica Cuellar and Bobbie Vasil; son Daniel, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as nephews and dear friends.We thank Franciscan Hospice for their tender ministration during BobÂ's last days.Services will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church (5505 108th St., Lakewood): Rosary and Vigil at 6:30 PM on Friday, November 25 and Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, followed by a reception. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
