Rita Ruth Harvey's Obituary
Saturday, July 17, 2010, Rita Harvey passed away peacefully in her home with her family at her side. Rita was born December 26, 1942 to Rex and Helen Utt. Raised in Wenatchee, she graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1961. She worked a short time in Oregon until she married Ken Harvey on July 31, 1965. They settled in Tacoma and raised two children, Rob and Leanna. In the last few years, she was happiest spending time with her only grandchild, Jesica. Rita will be remembered for her work with the Downing PTA, and she worked in retail for many years. To relieve stress and for pleasure, Rita would work in her yard. She thought of it as a little piece of land God provided for her, to keep up for Him and others to enjoy.
Rita is survived by her son, Robert Harvey of S. Burlington VT, her daughter Leanna Bauer and granddaughter Jesica Bauer of Tacoma, sister Gay Tabayoyon of Yakima, and numerous aunts uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Ken Harvey and her parents Rex and Helen Utt.
Arrangements are by Mountain View Funeral Home. At Rita's request, there will be no formal services. A private family gathering in her honor has been held.
