Rita Fay (Guinn) Franklin's Obituary
Rita Fay (Guinn) Franklin a long-term resident of Mineral Wells, Texas passed away on February 23, 2019 in Gig Harbor, Washington. Born January 16, 1928 in Waurika, Oklahoma to John and Mae Guinn she met the love of her life, Doyle Franklin when they were teenagers as their families followed the cotton harvests in Oklahoma and Texas during the Great Depression. Rita (then 15) and Doyle (18) were married in Munday, Texas in 1943. When Doyle returned from Europe after serving in the U.S. Army in WW II the young couple settled in Mineral Wells, Texas. Their beloved daughter and only child, Charlotte, was born there in July 1945. Rita was predeceased by her husband Doyle and moved to Gig Harbor, Washington in 1999 to be near Charlotte and son-in-law Gary Meyer, grandchildren Jeff (Cheri) Macey, Nicole (John) Duppenthaler and great-grandaughters Olivia and Korbyn Duppenthaler.
Rita loved the Lord, her family, her friends and neighbors, and the caregivers at Sound Vista Village Assisted Living in Gig Harbor. Burial is at Mountain View Cemetery, Tacoma, Washington.
