Richard G. Winkelman's Obituary
Richard "Wink" Winkelman, 67 of Olympia passed away peacefully in his home March 8, 2018. Born December 6, 1950 in Olympia, WA, Wink was a retired FritoLay District Manager. Wink is survived by his wife of 10 years, Sonja (Gleizes) Eby. He is also survived by his son Jonathan (Brianne) Winkelman, stepsons Christopher (Molly) Gleizes, Matthew (Jennifer) Gleizes, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild all of Olympia, his son’s mother Robin Stewart and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers Max (Cheryl) Winkelman and Brian (Becky) Winkelman, mother Betty (Robert) Williamson, father Richard K. Winkelman and uncle James (Pill) Winkelman. Wink attended Olympia High School and Evergreen State College. Wink was a hard-working man, an avid ocean fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and time away at their beach cottage in Westport. He enjoyed pleasure boating in addition to ocean fishing. Wink was a wood craftsman and loved spending time in his wood shop.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Olympia Yacht Club, Sunday April 22, 2018, 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Assured Hospice.
