Richard W. Hopkins
Dick was born June 11, 1933 in Tacoma and passed away on January 31, 2009. He is preceded in death by mother Virginia (Owens) Donnelly and father Fay Hopkins. He is survived by his brother Paul. Dick was a graduate of Lincoln High School, PLU and SDSC. He served in the Armed Forces Far East Command. Dick married his wife and best friend Helen on June 5, 1959. In 1988 he retired from the Clover Park School District as an Administrator. He had two children: Greg Hopkins and Pamela Jackson along with three grandchildren Stacy & Jeffrey Jackson of Puyallup and Kelli Hopkins of Rainier. He carried on a good fight with CKF (Chronic Kidney Failure) and MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). Special thanks to Oncologist Dr. Chris Chen and the staff of the infusion clinic at both TG and Allenmore. Also thanks to Nephrologist Dr. Thomas Martin and the staff at St. Joseph Dialysis Clinic. Dick was an elder and member of the Manitou Park Presbyterian Church. Burial service will be private at Mountain View Memorial Park followed by memorial service at Manitou Park Presbyterian Church, located 6613 S. Cheyenne Tacoma WA. 98409 at 11am February 5th, 2009.
