Richard L (Dick) Sobota
4-14-1932 To 7- 11- 2017
Richard passed away in his sleep at Puyallup Nursing Home after a short battle with Cancer. He was born April 14, 1932 at Long Beach, CA to Ferdinand E Sobota, Sr. and Bertha C Sobota. He was a 1950 graduate of Clover Park High School and in 1950 enlisted with the U.S. Navy serving our country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as an Electrician Mate First Class from the Navy after 6 years of service. Richard went on to become a production worker with the Boeing Company and later in 1958 went on to the University of Washington achieving his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1962. Richard went on to work again for the Boeing Company where he retired after many airplane projects including the B2 Stealth Bomber.
Things Richard enjoyed were coin collecting, traveling and stock market trading.
Richard is preceded in death by his wives Mary E Sobota, Patricia L Sobota and his child Karen A Sobota. Richard leaves behind his two sons Eric R Sobota and Jason Vey. Richard is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Ferdinand E Sobota, Jr. (Audrey), Carol L Newcomer (Johnny) and Robert W Sobota (Kathy). A memorial service will be held for Richard at a later date.
