Richard E. Schaefer
Richard Schaefer passed away at home on July 3, 2011.
He was born on January 25, 1936 in Portland, Oregon.
He is survived by his wife Jean,
Children: Ann, Robert (Lovejoy),Gary (Natalie) and Tammy Pratt (David)
Grand children: Andria, Annette (Daniel), Ryan, Tyler and Alyssa
Great grand children: Brianna, Michael and Lilly
Richard proudly served in the U.S.A.F. for 24 years and retired in 1973, and also worked at the U.S.P.S Spanaway Branch for 22 years and retired in 1998.
Richard and Jean enjoyed going to the Silver Dollar Tavern to play pool and to play darts on Wednesdays. Every September they would go to Reno for the Camel races, balloon races and reno air show. Various times during the year they would go to Seaside OR to enjoy walking on the beach and eating at the Pig in pancake, and going to Tillamook cheese factory to eat ice cream.
All through his life he enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and when he was younger he enjoyed taking pictures (for example pictures of garbage cans).
For family vacations we went camping.
During the summer he always enjoyed planting a garden with lots of vegetables.
