Richard Rabisa's Obituary
Richard Rabisa was called home by The Lord on June 25th, 2021 to join his true love, Maria, at last. Richard was born on April 30th, 1932 in the Hawaiian Islands (Kaiwiki, Hilo), the son of Joseph and Mary Rabisa, where he was one of eleven children.
At just twenty-one years of age, Richard went on to join the United States Army and was stationed in Aschaffenburg, German, where he met his first wife, Maria, and become married on March 3rd, 1956. During his time in the armed forces, Richard served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where he was awarded a Bronze Star for his patriotism and heroic leadership. Richard was a loyal member of the South Sound Ronald Reagan Republican Club and was passionate and dedicated to seeing his city and his country flourish with prosperity.
Richard enjoyed a long life filled with 57 years of marriage, family, laughter, adventure and much, much more. He especially loved to travel to his home state of Hawaii to see his family and enjoy the lavish luau's.
In addition to his mother and father, Richard was predeceased by his bride, Maria, all but one of his ten siblings, and his son, Alfred. Surviving in addition to his present wife, Donna Feldman, is his son Jerry Rabisa and his wife, Betty, of Lakewood; daughter Joanne Benear and her husband Donald, of Maryland; four grandsons, Brandon Rabisa, Leolani Rabisa, Richard Benear, Donalad Benear Jr., Crew Rabisa. One brother, Milton Rabisa of Kaiwiki, Hawaii, many aunties, uncles and cousins as well as great friends.
A memorial service in honor of Richard will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 10th at the FirstBaptist Church of Lakewood.
