Richard P. Rohrer's Obituary
Major Richard P. Rohrer, born March 8, 1933 in Hepner, OR passed away peacefully October 16, 2006 in Tacoma, WA. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, retired in 1976 as a Major after 20 years of dedicated service piloting C123 and C141 and many other military aircraft. He was most proud of having the honor of transporting American soldierÂ's home from Hanoi Vietnam at the end of the war. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Ruth, and companion of 20 years, Edith in 1998.Survivors include; sons Kirk (Antoinette) of Seaville, NJ, Mike (Monica) of Fairfield, CA and Steve (Lisa) of Yukon, OK; daughter Kim Masciandaro (Vince) of Marlton, NJ; ten grandchildren; sister Margaret (Gerry) Kemper of Portland, OR. Also surviving are EdithÂ's three daughters: Sandy (Dick) Burgess, Susan (Debbie) Davis Engelstad, Sharon (Doug) Mattson, and their 6 children.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
