Richard James Clawson's Obituary
Richard Â"DickÂ" Clawson, 51, was born in Tacoma, Washington on June 11, 1953. He died Friday, February 4, 2005 of heart failure. Dick, who attended Curtis High School and later graduated from Wilson High School, had many interests throughout the years. He was a Boy Scout, bowler, boater and fisherman, CB radio enthusiast, and possibly the greatest Seattle Mariners fan in Washington. Along the way, everyone Dick met became his friend. He had a great sense of humor and compassion for others. He worked for the City of Tacoma and for Seattle First National Bank. He faced many challenges throughout his life, but never dwelled on them. He was not willing to let his body slow his spirit. He received a kidney/pancreas transplant 12 ½ years ago and lived his Â"newÂ" life to the fullest, amazing his physicians, family and friends with his determination, passion for life, and cheerful attitude Â- even in the toughest of times. He spent his last 16 years living in Tahoma Vista Village in Tacoma.He is survived by his parents, Bob and Audrey Clawson of University Place, his sister, Ellen Stone and brother-in-law Geoff Stone of Bothell, and three nephews, Brandon, Tony and Alex Stone.A Celebration of Life reception will be held from 9 AM to 12 noon on Saturday, February 12th at the Celebration of Life Center, Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, in Lakewood.
