Richard S Gill Jr's Obituary
Richard S. Gill Jr., 78 of Tacoma, our devoted husband, dad, grandfather, and uncle went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 11, 2018. Richard was born on May 14, 1939 in Hartselle, Alabama to Richard S. Gill and Hallie Von Ruffin Gill. He was a dedicated member of Miles Memorial CME church in Tacoma and was diligent in his service to God and his church family. This is where he met his lovely wife and married Bonnie Faye Campbell. Richard was proceeded in death by his father, Stiner Richard, his mother Hallie Von Ruffin, his daughter Anjeanetha Elaine, his brothers, James and David, and his sister Peggy. Surviving this exceptional and epitome of a man, Bonnie, his wife of 51 years; his son Richard III; his daughters Daphne Gill and Dannette Walker (Alex); his sisters Mary Evon Gill-Cooper (Charles) and Betty Gill. Richard’s nephews; Stanley Greg Gill and Richard James Gill; nieces; Marie Gill, Clara Horn (Johnny) and his grandchildren Saxton, Alexis, Barrington (Sugar Bear), Xerina and Xecareus.
Viewing will be held on Friday May 18, 2018 at Mountain View Memorial Park from 10 m – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018 at Miles Memorial CME church. 1601 S ‘L’ Street, Tacoma, WA 98405. Repass will follow funeral services and be held at the Ray Gibson Caballeros Club. 1516 S 28th St, Tacoma, WA 98409. Burial will be on Monday May 21, 2018 at Mountain View Memorial Park at 11 am. Arrangements made by Mountain View Funeral Home.
