Richard (Dick) Gilbertson's Obituary
Richard (Dick) Gilbertson, of Tacoma died on Friday, February 21, 2014. He was born in Tacoma, WA on September 11, 1926. Richard served in the Navy during WWII. After his discharge he worked as a meat cutter and several years later opened the first “We Mak’em U Bak’em Pizza” business in Tacoma. This quickly developed into Gils Deli which served countless customers for many years. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening and traveling with his late wife Rose. He had a generous spirit and loved the company of several loyal pets throughout the years.
He is survived by his sister Lucille Bunke, son Bob Gilbertson (Lila), grandchildren, Kerry, Jody, Tod, and Sean, nine great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the dedication and love Elaine Seeberger showed Dick in the last few years of his life. At his request, no service will be held.
