Richard G. Haglund's Obituary
Richard George Haglund
Born on March 31, 1925 in Tacoma to Axel and Emma Haglund and passed away quietly on June 4, 2012.
With the exception of Army service during the Pacific campaign of WWII, he was a lifelong resident of Pierce County. He was a graduate of Lincoln High and Pacific Lutheran College (PLU). He touched many lives in his career as a business teacher at Clover Park High, in displaying his faith as an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church plus working as a community volunteer, and as a President of the 96th Infantry Div. Ass'n.
To many, he will be remembered as the master of the pun.
Richard will be greatly missed, especially by Muriel, his wife of 63 years, his children Chris (Lee) Chase, Mark, Diane (Larry) Mundy, Geraldine (John) Leskovar, and Jon, grandchildren Phillip Chase, Peter Chase, Michelle (Phil) Campos, Matt (Tova) Haglund, Michael Haglund, Laurel Mundy, Michael (Lisa) Leskovar, Cheryl (Gil) Pena, and Karen (Joe) Keyser, and great-grandchildren Lily Campos, Roman Leskovar, and Gabriel Pena.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran, 8602 Bridgeport Way SW in Lakewood, on Saturday, June 16th at 11a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to St. John's Lutheran Church.
