Richard Duguay's Obituary
Richard (Dick) Duguay, 76, died Sunday, May 12, in Olympia, WA. Dick was born on August15th, 1936 in Puyallup to Nestor and Meredith Duguay. He loved boating, gardening and other outdoor activities. Dick went to Western Washington University where he met and married Kay (Turner) in 1960. He and Kay raised their family in University Place. There he helped develop the Curran Orchard Park and worked his press at several annual cider squeezes. Dick was a teacher and guidance counselor in the Clover Park School District, where he also led outdoor education programs. Kay and Dick later lived in Allen, Twisp and Lacey, WA. While in Allen, Dick volunteered at the Thellar Wetlands where he helped piece together a whale skeleton.More recently, he was an active participant in various Jubilee activities. Music was always central to Dick's life and he sang, played the ukelele and wrote funny songs. He was greatly loved by his four grandchildren, his relatives and his many friends. His hugs are legendary! Dick is survived by his wife, Kay; children, Debbie, Bill and Tom; and grandchildren,Jackson,Johnnie, Neal and Willy. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel in Lakewood on Saturday, May 18th at 1:00.
