A story about Dick and I.
Years ago, Dick and I owned an island in British Columbia, it was in Stuart Lake. We decided to go up and look at it. We took Dick’s son Eric and my son Greg with us. We were in an older Cessna 182 that I had. We arrived in Vanderhoof. BC and discovered that the weather was bad so we could not continue our flight to the island. A pilot who had just landed told me if we followed the Fraser River we could make it down to Vancouver. As we were flying along I told Dick that if the engine quite we would have to go into the trees as the river was very wild. Dick looked at me and said “you damm fool there are bears down there.” I told Dick that I was not worried about the bears as I had my tennis shoes on. He said, “well you can’t outrun a bear. I looked at him and said, yes that is true but I can outrun you. We have had a few laughs over the years as I told that story.
