Richard E. Asher's Obituary
Richard “Rich” E. Asher, 73, died on March 1, 2020 with his family by his side. He was born in Yakima, on August 26, 1946, the son of Norval and Evelyn (Miller) Asher.
Rich married the love of his life, Cherie, in 1970, and together they raised their only son, Eldon. Rich proudly served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic. He was an active member of the Tacoma Nazarene Church since 1987, where he was able to make friends quickly with his gift to make personal connections with just about anyone. Rich was an avid Seahawks and Mariners fan, and always enjoyed watching the Army/Navy game. In his spare time he loved to play golf.
Rich is survived by his beloved wife, Cherie; son Eldon (Pam) Asher; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth and Samuel Edwin; and sister Virginia (Rick) Davis.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, March 12, and the Tacoma Nazarene Church, 3640 S M St., Tacoma, WA 98418. Burial will full military honors will be at 11am Thursday, March 19, at Tahoma National Cemetery.
