Richard A. Cheslik's Obituary
Richard A. Cheslik, born Feb. 12, 1927, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005. A lifetime resident of Tacoma, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945 after serving in the Navy aboard the USS Pennsylvania. He was employed by the Bremerton Naval Shipyards for 35 years as a shipfitter and after retirement enjoyed working at NordstromÂ's.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Luella; sons Ken (Jeanette) of Tacoma, Steve (K.T.) of Visalia, CA; and daughter Cindy of Tacoma. Also survived by 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Greg and Jeff of Tacoma, and Doug and Betsy of Visalia, CA; brothers Ray (Vickie) and Ron (Lila) of Tacoma, several nieces and nephews, and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Beverly.Viewing will be held from 3-9 p.m. on Thursday at Mt. View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Church of Pierce County, 4041 Tacoma Mall Blvd.
