Ricardo Chevalier Carson's Obituary
Once again God has seen fit to call from among us a dear husband, daddy, brother, uncle, granddad and friend. We some celebrating our loved one's ascent upon high because we know that he is not dead, but only resting in the bosom of Jesus.
SFC Ricardo C. Carson was born on February 21, 1932 in Williamston, NC, the oldest of three sisters and three brothers to the late King David Carson and Mary Jane Brown Carson. He passed away January 3, 2011 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA.
He married Mary Helen Carson on August 9, 1969. Three sons were born to that union, Ricardo, Jr., Reynaldo and Rodrigo.
During his tour of duty in the United States Army, he was stationed in Korea, Germany, and Fort Lewis, Washington where he retired in 1978. He had various assignments and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Medal, Meritorious Unit Emblem, Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and Distinguished Unit Citation.
He loved fishing, cooking, bowling, reading and collecting books. He spent much time in the backyard with his wife, sons, grandkids and friends. He also enjoyed repairing and building things and loved his artwork.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mary of 42 years; three sons: Ricardo, Reynaldo and Rodrigo; three sisters: Cynthia, Eyvonne and Aloha; three brothers: Billy, Erik and Mario; five grandchildren: Marian, Brooke, Terry, Mitchell and Eliana; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
