Reynaldo A. Mandapat's Obituary
Reynaldo Mandapat, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather died peacefully on February 24, 2022 in Tacoma. Rey was born on November 28, 1937 in Guadalupe, Makati Philippines.
He graduated from the University of the Philippines before enlisting with the military. Rey proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant with service in the Vietnam War and tours to Clark AFB, Alaska, Colorado, California, Illinois, Arkansas, and South Carolina. Following retirement, he continued to serve our Nation by working 15 years for the Veterans Administration ultimately retiring in 2002.
Rey deeply loved family; he enjoyed entertaining, in particular, cooking gourmet meals with recipes found in his extensive cookbook collection. He also loved fishing, gardening, running, and music. Rey was an active member of St Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Rey is survived by his wife Lucia of 60 years; daughters -Karen (Carl), Michelle (Skip), and son Rey John; grandchildren -Christopher (Abby) Erik; and Maria; and great grandchildren Skye and Liam. As well as, brother Leandro; sister Norma; sisters-in-law - Belen, Evelyn, Sharon, Helen, Debbie, Dotti; brothers-in-law- Tito and Fred; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
