Rex C. Tincher's Obituary
Rex Cecil Tincher age 86, a Lakewood resident passed away Saturday August 27, 2016 at Madigan Army Medical Center. Born in Whitesburg, Kentucky to Bill and Sarah Tincher (Snodgrass), Rex joined the Army at age 17 and was first stationed at Ft. Lewis in 1947. He was also stationed at Fairbanks, Alaska in 1949, Ft. Richardson, Alaska in 1950, Austria in 1951, Ansbach, Germany in 1952, Missouri in 1955, Ft. Stewart, Georgia in 1959, Ansbach, Germany again in 1961, returning to Ft. Lewis in 1964 then Vietnam in 1966 retiring in 1968. He was one of the original storage hunters and enjoyed buying and selling his treasures at swap meets. One of his favorite day trips was riding the Elbe train every summer. We would make it a family outing including his little buddy "Poppy".
Surviving are three daughters, Janet Tincher Svoboda (Paul), Patty Tincher Haas (Eric), Sandy Matthews (Lewis) and a son Robert Tincher all residing in Lakewood. Also surviving are four grandchildren Zachary Tincher, Sabrina Castaneda (George), Stephanie Svoboda, Jaden Matthews and also great grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be Friday September 9, 2016 3:30 pm at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood with a reception to be held on Saturday Sept. 10th 5:00 pm at the home of Patty Haas 11402 94th Ave. Ct. SW Lakewood 98498.
