Reubena Y. Grant, a lifelong Tacoma resident, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on September 10, 1933, Reubena graduated from Lincoln High School and later attended the University of Puget Sound.
An avid lover of the outdoors, she shared her passion as a swimming and ski instructor and spent her life exploring nature and traveling the world, even living overseas for several years. Reubena dedicated more than 25 years to serving the State of Washington in Social Care, touching countless lives with her kindness and compassion.
She was cherished by many in the Tacoma community and will be deeply missed. Reubena is survived by her son, Louis Barzar, and his partner, Frank Holsmuller, who reside in the Netherlands.
Her adventurous spirit and warm heart will live on in the memories of all who knew her.
