Retha (Bunnie) Wescott 8/20/1928 - 8/18/2008
Bunnie passed away peacefully Monday, August 18, 2008 after valiantly fighting lung disease for years. She had an amazing will to live and exhibited tremendous strength. She was a lifelong resident of Tacoma, a graduate of Lincoln HS, and raised a wonderful family whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Wescott and her parents, Bud & Arline Davis. She is survived by her brothers, Jim (Crystal) Davis & Jerry (Nancy) Davis; sons, Rick (Linda) Wescott &EMichael (Thea) Wescott both of Gig Harbor; Grandchildren: Dave, Sarah (JP), Rick (Sam), Julie, Nick, & John and Genny, Luke & Vincent; great-grandchild Tyler, the apple of her eye. She will be missed by everyone, especially her devoted friend & Companion Harold Omdahl. Throughout Bunnie's life she enjoyed many activities & had dear friends in the So. Tacoma Eagles #3, the VFW, & the Carling Boat Club. She enjoyed boating, camping & fishing. She was a championship bowler for many years. Bunnie's life was greatly enhanced by the loving care of the Franciscan Hospice. We had many additional memories because of the excellent care she was given by the wonderful Hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00am at Mt. View Funeral home, Valley Chapel, Tacoma. Viewing will be held Friday, August 22, 11:00am -9:00 pm.
