Regulo Figueroa was born on June 12, 1926 in Panama Canal Zone, Panama to Marcelo and Julia Figueroa; he was the oldest of 6 children. Growing up in Panama, he attended Balboa High School. After high school, he joined the Army during WWII. On September 20, 1947, he married Isaura Luz Lugo in San German, Puerto Rico. During his military career, he also served in Korea, Viet Nam (2 tours) and received the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 times) and the Good Conduct Medal (10 times). In 1977, he retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeat (MSG) after 31 years of service.
Being a Soldier was his proudest accomplishment! He continued working at the US Postal Service accruing an additional 22 years retiring at 80 years old; a combined federal service record of 53 years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Isa Figueroa and their four daughters: Norma Carlin (John), Linda Hagerich (Lynn), Myra Trucco (Kevin) and Brenda Richardson (Rob), nine grandchildren: Melinda Bloch, Emily Carlin, Adam Cuturilo, Larry Cuturilo, Marko Cuturilo, Marcello Trucco, Maria Trucco, Alexis Trucco, Erik Trucco and 3 great grandchildren: Zachary Bloch, Ashlyee Bloch and Jordyn Bloch. He is also survived by his three siblings, Felix Figueroa, Everado Figueroa and Zobie Davila. The most important thing in our Dad's life was his love for his family - He did everything for us and it is because of him that we had the wonderful upbringing that we did! He will be missed forever.
