Regina Renee Johnson's Obituary
Regina Renee Johnson was born in Topeka, Kansas to the late Sylvester J.L. Wallace Sr. and Emma True Sloan on January 19, 1957. She gained her wings on September 25, 2022.
Regina was raised in Trenton NJ, where she loved to dance, sing, and spend time with family and friends. In 1970, Regina along with her mom, stepfather and brother moved to Ft. Lewis, WA. Regina attended and graduated from Lakes High School in 1975 where she excelled in her studies and was named African American Princess.
In 1986, Regina moved to California where she met the love of her life, Rueben L. Johnson and they were married in 1991. On July 15, 1997, Regina’s dream of being a mother came true with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Aaliyah True Johnson. Aaliyah was Regina’s one true love!
Being a mother was the greatest joy of Regina’s life – she was completely devoted to every aspect of Aaliyah’s life – from basketball to cheerleading, going to movies, having girl’s days together and ensuring Aaliyah had everything she needed to be happy and successful.
Regina was a dedicated daughter and loving sister, who doted on her five nieces and nephews. She was the fun aunt who spoiled the family’s youth on their birthdays and holidays. It was important to Regina that everyone knew how much she loved and valued them.
Regina was preceded in death by her beloved mother Emma, fathers Sylvester Sr. and James, brother Sylvester Jr., husband Reuben and daughter Aaliyah. She leaves to mourn her death and celebrate her life her sister Catrina (Colton) of Federal Way, WA; three nephews Dashawn (Pawan), Nicholas (Tara) of Sacramento, CA and Colton James of Federal Way, WA; two nieces Bianca (Stephen) of Oakland, CA and Ebonee of Tacoma, WA; three great nephews O’Ryan and Ishan of Sacramento, CA and Isaiah of Oakland, CA and one great niece Zoey of Sacramento, CA; and a host of relatives and friends.
