Raymond J. Howell Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Martin Luther King High School and later joined the US Navy. He spent his later years in Washington State and graduated from the Evergreen State College in Olympia with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services. Raymond became a social worker for the State of Washington and also provided social services to the Quinault and Nisqually Indian Tribes as an assistant director of social services. Raymond’s thirty year career as a social worker ended when he was diagnosed with Lupus.
Raymond is preceded in death by his mother and father Ruby Howell (Hemphill) and Raymond Howell Sr. Significant others Mary “Mikki” Cooper and Cathy Clardy and Grandchild Ayden. Survived by children Corey, Lyron, Cheron, Chanelle, Lonell and step-children Daniel and Christopher. Grandchildren Maiyah, Amirah, Kiara, Chance, Aalyah, Lonell, Mariah, Corey Jr., Kaivanna, Tayla, Amir, Taliya, Zymir, Khaalid, Kaylee, Ebon, and Eloah (soon to be born). Siblings, Natalie, Millicent, Christian, Kimberly, and Tiffany. Raymond also leaves behind his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and a host of family and friends.
Raymond will be cremated at Mountainview Memorial Cemetery in Lakewood, Washington and transported per his request to his final destination Nadi, Fiji where his remains will be scattered.
