Ray Owen Madsen's Obituary
Ray Owen Madsen, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away on September 20, 2023. Ray was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on March 4, 1944, to his parents, Norma and Irvin Madsen. He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he would eventually graduate from Highland High School.
Ray first attended the University of Utah and graduated from Utah State University. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hong Kong. Ray also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
In 1967, Ray married the love of his life, Marcia Snow, their union was blessed with six wonderful children: Sandra (spouse Drake), Christopher (spouse April), Ryan (who has passed away), Erik (spouse Jenny), Nancy (spouse Marc), and Andrew (spouse Norah). Ray's devotion to his family knew no bounds, and he reveled in the joys of being a parent and grandparent. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with the fifth on the way.
Ray pursued a career as a Para educator at Puyallup High School, after his retirement, as a Quality Control Manager in the soft drink industry for over three-decades.
Above all, Ray Owen Madsen was a man of faith, and his love for the Lord was unwavering. His life was a testament to the principles of love, kindness, and compassion that he derived from his faith. He shared these principles with everyone he encountered, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of those who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Ray's life will be held on September 27, 2023 at 4:00pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: 13420 94th Ave E, Puyallup, WA.
