Ralph R. Hanna's Obituary
Born June 8, 1917, in Colville, WA. Passed away February 17, 2006, in Puyallup. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 40 years, Julietta (1985), his parents, 2 sisters, and a brother. Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl McMahon, grandson Michael McMahon, both of Tacoma; two sisters: Edith Knutson of Bellingham and Alice Hinrichs of Aberdeen, and many nieces and nephews.Ralph enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends. He was an avid gardener, woodcraftsman (in the ruff) and a hard working survivor of the depression years. He couldnÂ't stand to see anything go to waste.He organized a sponsorship fund with his Pythian Lodge for the East Side Boys Club during their first year. He loved to help and give time and energy to the youth on McKinley Hill. He enjoyed with them what he had not been able to have during his own childhood.Ralph was honorably discharged from the Army after serving during World War II and retired from McChord Air Force Base as a civil service engineer after 32 years.His lodge affiliations were: Past Chancellor Commander of Commencement Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Fairweather Lodge, of F&AM, Scottish Rite, and Afifi Temple, Shriners. He was a past patron and life member of Fern Chapter OES and was a Â"greatÂ" dancer at the Puyallup Eagles. Private family services were held. If you wish, donations may be made to the Unfunded Equipment Fund c/o Ahlab Court #69 L.O.S., 815 S. Vassault St., Tacoma, WA. This fund assists the children who are being helped at the Shriners Hospital in Portland, OR.
