Ralph Alton Emerson's Obituary
Ralph Alton Emerson, “Bud”, was born in Villard, Minnesota to George William and Ella Edith (Clair) Emerson on December 27, 1922. His family later moved to Tacoma where he attended school. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
In 1947, he married his sweetheart, Elene Hagen, and on June 14th they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He retired as a Power Dispatcher from Tacoma Public Utilities in April, 1983 after 35 years of service.
He leaves behind his loving wife Elene; sons, Rob (Lynn) and Mark (Kathy); grandchildren, Kris, Andy, Sandra (Mckee) and Kayla; as well as his sister, Linda Dehn of Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 20th at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 North Stevens in Tacoma with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity.
