Dear Harriet and all, I was deeply saddened in learning of Ralph's passing. Ralph and I worked together for many years in the Fort Lewis Mobilization department and I've never known a more professional and likable person. Since my Army retirement in 1994, I often wanted to call Ralph and meet for lunch but I let my busy schedule get in the way, which I very much regret. Ralph and I often enjoyed lunches at his favorite Chinese restaurant in South Tacoma, and would talk about his past military service and the Seattle Seahawks. Whenever conditions got tense in the office, Ralph would always find a way to lighten up the situation with his humor and constant smile. Ralph was highly respected by all who knew him, as a soldier and as a civilian. He will be deeply missed and Ralph will always remain in my thoughts and prayers.
