Rafaela Simpson's Obituary
Mrs. Rafaela Scott Simpson (better known as Aunt Pearl) was born January 13, 1925. Rafaela was born to Vincent and Edith Scott in the Republic of Panama, Almirante, Bocas Del Toro. Her parents were from Jamaica and immigrated to the country of Panama so her father could work on the Panama Canal. Rafaela had six brothers and sisters: Dotty, Glen, Roy, Oswald, Harold and Ruby. Roy is her only sibling still living.
Rafaela was raised by her grandmother Roberta Allen Goldbourne. She loved her grandmother and she often spoke about going to see her up until recently.
Rafaela had three sons Nasir Ahmad, George A. Simpson Jr and Ernesto P. Simpson.
Rafaela moved to the United States, lived in Brooklyn, NY and worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery in administration until she retired.
She was an avid seamstress and made clothes for family members and friends. She loved traveling and visiting her family in their various locations and countries where they lived. She enjoyed dancing to Salsa and Calypso music and being with friends.
She is survived by her sons Nasir Ahmad and wife Flora Agusto, George A. Simpson Jr. and wife Debra Simpson, Ernesto P. Simpson and wife Gaylon Simpson, her brother Roy Scott who lives in Panama.
She is also survived by her Nieces and nephew Albert Morrisosn and his wife Janet, nieces Breneda and Patricia Morrison, Donna Ann Glasgow and Ernesto Scott.
Grandchildren, Vanessa Louison and husband Irving Louison, Jihan Ahmad, Shaun Simpson, Jamil Simpson, Alexander Simpson, and Andrew Simpson.
Rafaela also has 4 great-children: Bianca Ahmad-Wiggins, Joseph Simpson, Jeriamiah Simpson, Danielle Louison and Zachary Louison.
She has a large family including, Ortencia Good and family, Dotty Staples, and other nephews and nieces that live in Panama.
Other close family members include Mavis Simpson, Barbara and Eric court, Andrew and Pearl Brown.
