Born on December 7, 1914 in Portland, OR to Conrad and Elizabeth Miller. Died May 8, 2006 in Tacoma, WA.She is survived by three sons: Ronald (Sandra), Richard, and Robert (Vivian); six grandchildren: Kelly (Don) King, Kristina (Nick) Dodge, Lt. Cmdr. Ronald (Julia) Shaw Jr., Rev. Daniel (Michelle) Shaw, Kimberly (Matt) Jones, Karen (Robert) Salinas; ten great-grandchildren, sister Amelia Cunningham, niece Jackie Sinclair, nephew Darrell Cunningham, and sister-in-law Louise Miller. She was preceded in death by husband Floyd, son Randall, and brother Conrad.Rachel worked for the Bon Marche, Bank of California, and the TeamsterÂ's Union. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Warren Chapter, and the Amaranth. She enjoyed needlework, cooking, and gardening. She was a woman of strong convictions who loved to shop, and had impeccable taste in clothes, jewelry, and home décor.Her true passion was her abiding Christian faith in God. She could always be found worshipping in the same church pew every Sunday.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2006 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 North Stevens St. Tacoma.In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
