R.C. Moore's Obituary
R. C. Moore was born on May 6, 1935, in Alma Alabama to the late C. L. Moore and Ardell Carter Moore.
During the 1950's R. C. migrated to Chicago, Illinois. He dedicated nearly 40 years to the Chicago Tribune Newspaper, holding various positions including Ink Press Operator; Newspaper Bundling; and retiring as a Delivery Driver.
R. C. was well known on the South and West side of Chicago, where he drove the Taxi vehicle for Checker, Jiffy and Yellow Cab. He was known for being very adventurous, a risk taker, and always looking for action. He was a fast walker, a fast talker, an early riser, and his favorite words were, "I'll get back with you."
Mr. Moore was well known for always giving someone a helping hand without strings attached. Later R. C. moved to Tacoma, Washington, where he lived for twelve (12) years with his brother, O'Neal Moore.
He loved life; he loved people, and he truly lived life to the fullest! He was preceded in death by: parents, C. L. Moore, Alma, Alabama and Ardell Carter Moore, Mobile, Alabama; grandfather, Claiborne Carter & grandmother Ernestine Waller Carter, Alma Alabama; sister, Emily Curtis, Walker Springs , Alabama; brother, Alvin Moore, Chicago, Illinois,; uncle, Robert L. Carter, Sacramento, California; Robert Moore, Alma, Alabama; aunts: Leathie Smith Hannon, Chicago, Illinois; Rebecca Fox, Alma, Alabama; Lillie Mae Moore, Alma, Alabama; cousin, Ira Fox, Alma, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one devoted brother, Oneal Moore, Tacoma Washington; one sister, Ida Moore Ayers, Mobile, Alabama; two daughters Gladys Moore Figures (Hirom-big boy), Mobile, Alabama; Tonga Tonya Harper, Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; four nephews; two nieces; a devoted neighbor, Samuel Ollison, Tacoma Washington; and a host of relatives and friends.
