Quentin Gibson's Obituary
Quentin (Gib) Gibson Born March 28, 1919 at Raymond, Washington to Samuel and Priscilla (Orkney) Gibson. Passed away March 21 Tacoma. Gib attended Raymond High School, where he was active in athletics. After graduation he attended Washington State College in Pullman, majoring in business. During WWII he served in the U.S. Air Force. Stationed on Tinian Island, he witnessed the flight of the Enola Gay. Quentin was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. In 1949 he married Margaret (Millie) Millichamp of Port Orchard. For 41 years Gib and his brother operated a service station near Tacoma General Hospital. As a small business owner, he took pride in quality customer service. Gib was a member of the Elks Club and VFW Post 969. During his retirement years, Gib enjoyed following the Mariners, gardening, fishing, and watching his four grandchildren grow up. He is survived by his wife in the home, brother Raymon (Nancy) of Tacoma, daughters Janine (Jim) Stelljes of Seattle and Judy (Bill) Witt of Soap Lake, and grandchildren Kevin, Kyle, Meili, and Minh. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View cemetery Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11:30.
