Prince Ella Brooks' Obituary
Born September 4, 1930, Prince Ella departed this life peacefully at home with her family on October 3, 2003. She was a dedicated member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years.Loving mom and grandma to many, she was a foster mother for over 35 years. In 2001, she was honored by the Mayor of Tacoma for her dedication and service to our community.Prince was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Brooks and father, Eld. Otis Brown. She is survived by her mother, Lillie Mae Brown; children, Cheryl J. Hill, Denise Cox, M.A. Brooks, Michele Brooks, Caren Owens, Stacy Hare-Satterwhite, and Tracy Hare; 3 sisters, 1 brother, 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Catherine Richardson and the Â"9-DÂ" nursing staff at St. Joseph Medical Center, and a special thank you to her loving caregiver, Esther Hunter.Viewing will be from 11 A.M. until 9 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Mt. View Funeral Home.Services will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, October 10, 2003 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 5314 Portland Ave., Tacoma.
