Phyllis Young, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and compassionate caregiver, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Tacoma, Washington on August 4, 1954, Phyllis lived a life rooted in service, love, and unwavering strength.
A lifelong Washington native, Phyllis answered a deep calling to care for others, dedicating her career to nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she served her community with grace, empathy, and tireless dedication. Her healing hands and kind heart touched countless lives over the years, and her legacy continues in the lives she cared for and the family she cherished deeply.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Larry Young. Together, they built a strong and beautiful family that was the center of Phyllis’s world. She is also survived by her daughters, Tawana Bens, Asia Young, and Larriett “Sam” Young; her son, Larry Young, Jr.; and her beloved grandchildren: Jelani Lawson, La’Maine Young, Xayvien Young, Jeyden Young, Larjhaun Young, Anyjah Young, A’Dream “Girlie” Sanders, A’Deres “Scoot” Sanders, and Braven Young.
Phyllis will be remembered for her warm spirit, her sharp wit, her unwavering love for her family, and her fierce devotion to helping others. Her presence was a source of strength, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved her.
