Florence Ariessohn
When we moved to this area in 1980, I joined a local League of Women Voters group, which sometimes met at Phyllis' house. I found her inspiring and a wonderful mentor to the younger women in the group, including me. Though I never ran for office as she urged me to do, I learned so much from her! She was a strong, intelligent woman who was not afraid to speak her mind boldly, but she also could use gentle persuasion to bring people to her point of view. I will always remember her fondly. The world needs more like her.
