Phyllis Ruth Brabec's Obituary
Phyllis Ruth Brabec, age 93, passed away on August 27, 2023 while getting ready for church. Born August 23, 1930, to John and Frieda Groth in Gallatin County, Montana. She is survived by a step-brother Joe Peasley (Lakewood, CO), three daughters Sharon & John Talbot (Spokane, WA), Nancy & Dwight Myers (Ada, OK), Patricia & Virgil Pfautch III (Sacramento, CA), two grandchildren Joshua & Stacee Talbot (Spokane, WA), Ashley Talbot (Shoreline, WA), two step-granddaughters, Audrey (Myers) & Kyle Ingram (Kansas City, MO), Karen (Myers) & Joseph Hart (Ada, OK), and two step-great-granddaughters, Alice Ingram and Eleanor Hart. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roland and two sisters Doris Carter and Joyce Hidy.
Phyllis was a member of a local church in Eastgate (Bellevue), WA for about 65 years. She taught children's church, sang in the choir, helped in AWANA, went on ladies' day outings and liked to help clean up in the kitchen after times of fellowship. She worked in food service for a number of schools in the Bellevue School District. She loved gardening both fruits/veggies and flowers. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling and tennis among many different sports. She competed in the Senior Games in Yuma, AZ where she and her husband Roland of 65 years wintered for more than 25 years. She enjoyed traveling and taking lots of pictures while visiting with friends and family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23 at 1:00pm in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
