Philip "Phil" Wilson Glover's Obituary
Celebrating the Unconditional.. of Love, Devotion, and Laughter
We celebrate the life of Philip “Phil” Wilson Glover, a man who loved to laugh, and regardless of the situation always strived for a positive outlook. His loving spirit and hardworking nature shaped a journey that inspired everyone lucky enough to know him.
Phil was born in Renton, Washington to Gordon G Glover, Sr. and Shirley A Deaver Glover on May 28th, 1957. Predeceased by his younger brother, Bruce, Phil cherished the remaining bonds he shared with brothers Gordon, Jr. and Michael, as well as his former wife and good friend, Gina Marie Chiechi Glover. From an early age, family remained the steady compass in his life.
Phil’s proudest title was “Dad,” or "Daddio" as his daughter would affectionately call him. His kids, Dylan, Seth, Shawna, Tyler, and Jesse, were the light of his life and he poured his soul into supporting them in every way, no matter what the cost. With steady dedication and a dash of goofiness, he showed that joy and responsibility can share the same road.. no matter how bumpy it might get.
Having endured an untimely layoff as the Assistant Sargeant at Arms for the House of Reps, followed by a bout of depression that caused him to seek solace in alcohol, he eventually showed everyone that this life is what you make it. After successfully completing treatment at Schick Shadel he became a source of inspiration and support for not only his family, but for the many who followed his new found insights on the journey of life. His sobriety became his proudest achievement, eventually leading him to let go of old let downs and begin a new life, and career..
In 2014 Phil began driving for Heartland Express, alongside his brother Mike. Though they had their differences, their love for each other never wavered. They were a team, and as a team they logged countless miles and even more laughs.
Along the way he continued to write and inspire through countless musings on social media, while filling numerous photo albums with snapshots of sights he discovered on the road, full of beautiful scenery and unique perspectives that echoed his own outlook on life. Those images now stand as colorful reminders of his curiosity and sense of wonder, and of how there is always something worth appreciating.
Phil completed his earthly route on October 15, 2025, in Lee Vining, California. As we remember him, may every obstacle, every triumph, and even the smallest of delights prompt a smile and a warm thought of the man he was, and the journey he traveled so well.
