For more than thirty years, our family has been blessed to have had Gene and his family in our lives. Gene had such a gentle soul, loving heart and unwavering love for his family and friends. When you were with him, you knew what it was to be loved.
But Gene had a special love... a love that lasted for 57 years. He reserved the best of his love for his wife, Lynn. Their marriage and love for each other weathered many storms, but never for a moment was there a question as to whether they loved each other. Their dedication and love for each other went far beyond their wedding vows.
Gene's courage in facing his cancer was brave and selfless. His willingness to take part in different treatments was so courageous and not without a mission. Not only did he want to fight the battle, his wish was to be instrumental in finding a treatment or cure for someone in the future. I know that his wish will come true someday.
As we say goodbye to our dear friend, it is with a very heavy heart. We will miss you Gene, your smile, your laugh and your friendship. We will hold Lynn close until the two of you are together again. Thank you for all of the wonderful years of memories.

My thoughts are with you and your family. Gene was always so kind. Stacy M
I had the pleasure of working with Gene for several years as his manager at Farmers New World Life. Gene was always a great member of the team and someone I always knew I could count on to help out in any way he could. The courage, determination and positive attitude he showed in battling cancer has been an inspiration and a great example to all of us here at Farmers Life. I am thankful for the privilege to have known Gene and to see what an incredible spirit he had. He will be missed.
