Perry William Hook's Obituary
Perry William Hook
On the evening of July 18, 2009, after a long illness, Perry Hook returned home to be with the Lord. Perry was born on March 9, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington to Hayes D. and Melvine Hook. Perry was a hard worker and extraordinary father who loved God, life, family, and antique cars. As a hobby, Perry loved to spend time restoring cars. He won many awards including 2003 Father of the Year, Longshoreman Production Awards, and the Puyallup Dragway Championship, just to name a few. Perry graduated from Stadium High School in 1962, and began work as a journeyman longshoreman. He completed a thirty-five year career as a longshoreman for ILWU Local #23 at the Port of Tacoma . He leaves to remember his life his wife of twenty years, Jackie, daughters Katrenia Parker (Shawn), Monique Hook-Fickling (Turk), Anita Hook-Wambaugh (John), and Shelley Wyke, his stepson William Watkins (Sylvia), his brothers Art and Robert and sister Lenora, and grandchildren Broc Parker, Bo Harvey Parker, Austin Wambaugh, Samone Watkins, Nathan Watkins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Based on his love of racing and vintage collectible cars, we invite antique car lovers to drive their restored vehicles to the services. Viewing will be held Friday, July 24, 2009 from 1:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at Mountain View. Services will be Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 11:00a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, located at 2001 South "J" Street. Following the service, interment and a dove release will occur at Mountain View Memorial Park.
