It is said that people come into your life for many reasons. You came into our lives as a friend and we will miss you. The only comfort we have is knowing that you are in heaven watching over us. That will be a big job for you because you have so many friends and so many lives that you touched while you were here. It is true “it’s not how long you live but what you do with your life while you are living” and you did a lot with your life. When we met you, you were just a Soldier in the Army. We watched you accomplish your dreams. You started by getting your Associate of Arts degree and did not give up until you got your Bachelor of Arts degree. We watched you become a youth counselor and work with the soldiers in substance abuse prevention. We watched as you were actively involved with the Masonics and became the Grand Lecturer. We all watched you go from “DJ” Moody to the choir Director for your church. We watched you as you achieved your most importance accomplishment of all when you got your masters of Divinity Degree and became an Associate Minister at Mt. Sinai Church. They called you “the singing Preacher” and we know if you were here you would sing the song “Let the Life I Live Speak for Me”. Believe us when we say people all over know you and only wish that we could have accomplished half the things you did with your life. You showed us all that we can accomplish our dreams if we work at it like you did. It took us a long time to sign your guest book because doing so meant that we would have to face the fact that you are not here with us anymore, but you will always be in our heart. Earlene you can take comfort in knowing that Mike was a man of God and that God will take care of you and your family. We wish that we could be there to pray and cry with you, but you know that we are only a phone call away.
