Penny L. Jensen-Gerber's Obituary
Penny Lynn Jensen-Gerber was a devout Christian, A devoted daughter, wife, and friend who departed this earth on January 26, 2023.
She was born on June 29th,1952 in Tacoma Washington at Tacoma General Hospital. Her parents were Perry and Roberta Smith. She was a graduate from Wilson High School in 1970 and a straight "A" student. She was fluent in German. She attended Oregon State studying design and merchandising. She opened a women's fashion store in the Proctor District of Tacoma, called Abby's Desire. She was the kindest, most generous person who gave to many charities near and dear to her heart. She supported various charities having to do with animals and Christian causes. Subsequent to her retail store, Penny took over operations of Frisko Freeze, a company started by her father Perry Smith in 1950 and is still a Tacoma icon to this day.
She was married to Mark Jensen until his death in 2012. Penny remarried William Gerber, a widower and longtime friend in July 2022. She was survived by her husband , William Gerber, a stepson Chris Jensen, two half-sisters, Coralee Campagnolo and Pamela Wagner and a brother in law Roger Jensen.
A private Funeral service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel on the 25th of February at 10:00 am for immediate family and friends.
