Pauline Weitzel's Obituary
Pauline Koch (Cook) Weitzel was born in Tacoma, Washington, on October 30, 1910 to Alexander and Mabel Koch. She passed away on December 22, 2007 in Edgewood, Washington, at the age of 97. Pauline grew up and attended school in Tacoma. In 1928 she married Edward Weitzel and they made their home in the Tacoma area. Pauline loved caring for their home and her many flowerbeds. People could always pick out the Weitzel house from seeing Pauline's lovely flowers. After she and Ed moved to Fife, she became active in Valley Planters of Hill & Dale Garden League, where she won many awards for her floral arrangements. She remained active in Hill & Dale until her late 80s. Pauline continued to enjoy working in her flowerbeds at her mobile home in Edgewood through this past summer.Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father George Lesser, husband Edward Weitzel, brothers Henry Cook, Alvin Lesser and Harold Lesser, nieces Lori Lesser and Becki Foreman, dear friend Lydia Frank, and her beloved nephew Robert Burmeister. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rosella Weitzel, nieces Relma Burmeister and Nancy Breeden and their families.Pauline enjoyed the weekly senior lunches at the Fife Senior Center each Thursday until her health prevented her attending. She will be remembered by many friends and family as a very sweet lady. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, January 4, 2008 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
