Pauline Margaret Vert's Obituary
Pauline Vert passed away peacefully and went to dance with Bill on 4/16/2017
Pauline was born 10/26/1927 in Bellingham, Washington. She was adopted by loving parents Zoa and Lester Mendenhall and raised in Tacoma, Washington. Later in life, Pauline would reunite with her Bellingham family. She had 4 brothers and 1 sister; Arthur Johnson, Marilyn Perry, Ronald Johnson, Russel Watkins, and Gary Watkins. Pauline graduated from Lincoln High School and married Vernon (Bill) Vert April 4, 1946. Together they would adopt their first child Lonny. To her surprise and a blessing Pauline would give birth to 3 boys and 4 girls after being told she could not have children. Children oldest to youngest, Lonny Frye, Roy (Neome) Vert, Shiela (Mike) Kelly, Lynn (Paula) Vert, Arthur (Amy) Vert, Melody Vert, Renae (Darrell) Price, and Alana (Cameron) Reed. With all these children she was blessed with 28 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Zoa & Lester, brothers Arthur & Ronnie Johnson, sister Marilyn Perry, husband Vernon, sons Lonny and Roy, grandchild Stephanie, great grandchildren JoJo and Sophia.
Pauline worked at the Winthrop Hotel manning the elevator to later become an owner of a Professional Maid Service specializing in Hotels, Apartments, and Restaurants until she retired. She loved many things in her lifetime, playing the piano, sewing, cooking, fishing, clam digging, gardening, darts, bingo, crocheting, pull tabs, bowling, and had a true animal loving soul.
Pauline loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She spent time teaching them to crochet, cook up the best fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy in the Northwest, and be a practical joker. She would go on many adventures with them to Reno, Disney Land, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mt., and Renaissance Festival. And yes at 70 years old she rode the Scream Machine.
Pauline lived life with adventure and a sense of humor. Not only will she be remembered for her feistiness, love for animals, and 9 lives, but for her deep blue eyes, beautiful white hair, and her sexy 18 year old legs. She is very much loved by her family and friends. Pauline will be greatly missed, always loved, and forever in our hearts.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Aspen Chapel in Lakewood, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:30AM.
