Pauline Linington's Obituary
Pauline Watts Linington was born on January 29, 1916 in Rainier, OR to Gertrude Cooledge Watts and Edwin H. Watts. She was the second of five in the pecking order of the Watts siblings.
When Pauline was just a babe her parents left Rainier and moved to Wendell, Idaho. We think the reason for this move was to assist Gertrude's father on the Cooledge farm. Gertrude's father had been kicked by a horse and lost his leg due to that injury. In 1918, now with three young daughters, Pauline's family moved to Tacoma where they made their forever home and added two sons to their family lineage.
Pauline graduated from Lincoln High School in 1934 and went on to Pacific Lutheran College (now known as Pacific Lutheran University) where she earned a teaching degree. She taught elementary school for several years before she married the love of her life, William B. Linington in January, 1942. Pauline a and Bill were blessed with 48 wonderful years together before Bill's passing in December, 1990. They had two children, Lewis James and Sylvia Mae. Sylvia passed away in September, 2012.
Pauline left to take her place in God's choir on July 31, 2016 at the age of 100 years, 6 months and two days. She is survived by her son Lew and his wife Jackie, their two children Keith and his wife Sarah Linington and Erin and her husband Wes Neeley, and four beautiful great grandchildren, Aubigne(Aubi) and Tobin Linington ages 9&6, and Elliott and Edith Neeley also ages 9&6.
A family graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Monday, August 15th at 11:30am. Lew and Jackie are planning a Celebration of Pauline's Life party, date to be determined.
