Paulette and Sandy were our neighbors when I was growing up in Lakewood . She was a kind lady. She would babysit my brother and I. My fondest memory is when she told us about her childhood. How they use to get the chickens drunk on wine and watch them stagger around the yard. She would laugh and laugh over the memory. She was very accomplished seamstress and loved sewing. She was very proud of her yard; many hours of planting flowers and shrubs. It was like a park. She grew up in France and was a war bride. Her husband Sandy, served in the US Army and was at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. Paulette once told me her sister had been arrested and executed by the Gestapo for being in the resistance. RIP Paulette
