Paulette Marie Cooke's Obituary
Paulette Marie Cooke was born September 13, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away peacefully September 1, 2024, in Graham, Washington, at the age of 78. She's preceded in death by husband Gerald Cooke, children Cynthia and Scott, parents Paul and Lois Sovey, and brothers Bradley and Tom.
In the 1940s the Sovey family moved to Tacoma, where Paulette grew up with five siblings. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966, then married husband Gerald in 1968. The two shared a love of reading, science fiction and fantasy, and games.
Paulette raised her two daughters solo after Gerald passed away unexpectedly in 1990. Later in life she lived with and cared for her mother Lois before the two moved to a residential care home in 2017.
She is survived by children Rosemary Cooke Windsor and Roxanne Cooke; grandson James (Silas) Windsor; sisters Beth Runyan, Patti Kroll, and Susie Watkins; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, we invite contributions in her memory to the Tacoma Public Library Foundation or the Pierce County Public Library Foundation.
