Kathryn Ogden
I first met Paula when she came to Human Resources at Swedish. I had been connected to HR for years, related to student recruitment, employee onboarding and organizational development. Paula was engaging, with her curious mind and infectious laugh. She knew the right questions to ask, and cared about the answers she received. She was wise in helping us navigate a large organization. I think back to the days in her office with stacks of applications from nursing students for nursing technician positions, where we worked together to consider the best unit "fit" for each and plan their interview processes. She was an integral partner in starting a RN residency program for those students, now graduated, who were looking for a place to start their careers as nurses. I remember her as my daughter's supervisor, when she was volunteering, and then employed in HR with considerations of a HR career. I remember her as a wife and mom with stories to tell of the beloved people in her life, usually with laughter, always with pride. Not only were we work colleagues, but moms who could connect to that most important of vocations. My sympathy to Paula's family and friends--Kathryn Ogden, Program Manager, Academic Affiliations
