Paul A. Brown's Obituary
Paul was born in Tokyo, Japan to his parents Paul and Amy Brown on April 2nd, 1951 and passed into the arms of our loving savior on June 19th, 2005. Paul and his family moved to Tacoma in 1958 where he attended Fernhill Elementary, Baker Middle School, and Mount Tahoma High School, graduating from the class of 1969.Paul joined the Army in 1972 to be a Military Policeman. He spent time as an M.P. in Germany, Louisiana, and Madigan Army Medical Center before being honorably discharged in 1975. PaulÂ's desire in life was to become a police officer. His dream came true when he was accepted into the Tacoma Police Academy in 1977. He completed the academy and was a proud member of the Tacoma Police Department for 27 1/2 years. His proudest moment while on the force was being part of the reinstated motorcycle traffic division. He enjoyed motorcycles so much he purchased a Honda Goldwing in order to participate in funeral processions as a police escort during his off-duty hours. He loved his job, his fellow officers, and the public he served. Â"P.B.Â" retired from the department on May 5th, 2005.Paul had three children, Wendy Joy, Christopher Paul, and Heather Renae, who were the loves of his life. He had a unique and wonderful relationship with each of them and they will miss him terribly. Each child will remember his love, laughter, cooking, reprimands, his passion for helping others, and his newest interest, Ford Mustangs.Paul was preceded in death by his Father Paul A. Brown, Jr., Grandparents Paul Sr. and Gladys Brown, and Grandmother May Washizuka. He is survived by his children, Wendy Porter (Thomas), Chris, Heather, his Mother Amy Brown, Brother Thomas, former wife Kathy, and honorary son Elijah Alston.A celebration of PaulÂ's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 24th in the Mt. View Valley Chapel, with burial at New Tacoma Cemetery.
