Patrick James Howe
1923 - 2009
Patrick James Howe was born to James J. Howe and Hazel Fox in Dickinson, North Dakota on March 2, 1923. He passed away peacefully on July 8, 2009 with his wife Melba by his side. Pat served in the USENavy during WWII. He worked as an engineer for Burlington Northern Railroad for over 40 years. Pat was a big part of the community in Tacoma, WA. He was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, the Elks and TOA and a volunteer at the VA Hospital. His favorite activities were camping, boating, golf and breakfast after church with friends. Most importantly, he spent his time with family and his wife Melba, whom he loved very much. He is survived by Melba, his wife of 64 years, son Jim, daughters Janet and Patty and son-in-law Tom Watters. He was a wonderful grandpa to six grandchildren, Janelle Louis (Robert), Mindy Drake (Rob), Patrick Mittlestead (Shaina), Becky Scott, Jessie Beaty (Geno), and Brandon Howe (Ann). He also had five great-grandchildren, Breanna, Angel, Mason, Noah and Max. His funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church this Monday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. Arrangments by Mountain View Funeral Home. Internment at Calvery Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Pat's name. Special thanks from the family to the Doctors and staff at St Joseph Hospital. Especially Dr. Kelly and nurses Robert McGruder and Holly Opland.
